How We Review Joint Supplements
We research and compare joint supplements based on their formulas, ingredient evidence, transparency, value and buying terms to help you make a more informed choice.
Research first. Recommendations second.
HealthyJoints is a research-based comparison and review site. Our goal is to make it easier to understand what separates one joint supplement from another — without turning every product page into a scientific paper.
Before we score or recommend a product, we look at its current formula, ingredient doses when available, published human research, manufacturing and verification information, price, guarantee, buying terms and the claims used to market it.
What we look at
Every product is different, but the research process follows the same core steps.
We verify the product
We identify the current formula, serving directions, ingredient amounts when disclosed, manufacturer information and current buying terms.
We research the ingredients
We look for relevant human research, paying particular attention to the ingredients and doses that matter most to the formula’s positioning.
We evaluate the formula as a whole
Ingredient count alone does not determine quality. We consider how the formula is built, whether its components complement one another and what gives the product a clear reason to choose it.
We evaluate the purchase
Price per bottle, package value, guarantee, convenience and buying experience all matter because a good formula still needs to make sense as a purchase.
The HealthyJoints Score
Our seven criteria provide a consistent framework for comparing products. The weights below total 100 points and guide our editorial comparison. A score summarizes editorial judgment; it is not a clinical effectiveness percentage.
How the current totals are published: The October 2026 comparison uses editorial totals supplied by HealthyJoints’ publisher. A numerical allocation by criterion was not supplied for this edition, so the totals are not presented as independently verified sums of published sub-scores. Each review retains its qualitative assessment and sources. Missing information is disclosed; a high total does not remove a documented limitation or purchasing restriction.
Different products can be good for different shoppers
For the current edition, editorial rating bands are 90–100 Excellent, 85–89 Very good and 80–84 Good. These labels describe editorial totals, not clinical outcomes. Equal totals share a rank; alphabetical display order does not break a tie.
We do not expect every strong joint supplement to look the same. One product may stand out for formula transparency, another for research-backed branded ingredients, another for breadth, convenience or a distinctive approach.
That is why our reviews go beyond the numerical score. We also explain who may find each product particularly appealing and what makes it different from the alternatives. The goal is not simply to name a winner — it is to help you recognize which option best matches what you value.
How we handle scientific evidence
We distinguish between research on an ingredient and research on a finished supplement. When we discuss scientific evidence, we look for human research that is relevant to the ingredient, dose or formulation being evaluated and avoid presenting ingredient research as proof that a finished product will produce a specific result.
Scientific evidence is one part of the decision, alongside formula design, transparency, quality information, value and buying terms.
